Big Brother and the Holding Company est un groupe de rock américain formé en 1965 à San Francisco, qui partagea la scène psychédélique avec des groupes tels que Grateful Dead ou Jefferson Airplane. Big Brother and the Holding Company est surtout connu pour avoir lancé Janis Joplin avec qui le groupe a sorti Cheap Thrills, album-phare des années psychédéliques.
