Après un premier album intitulé Never Never Land (2000) très prometteur, Jane Monheit revient avec Come Dream with Me (2002), accompagnée des prestigieux musiciens que sont Kenny Barron, Richard Bona, Michael Brecker, Tom Harrell, Christian McBride et Gregory Hutchinson. La chanteuse reste fidèle à son rôle d'interprète de standards de jazz, et donne ici ses versions de ballades comme « Something to Live For » de Duke Ellington, et de titres plus groove comme « I'm Through With Love ». Mais elle étend aussi son répertoire à d'autres styles, avec notamment « Waters of March » du Brésilien Antonio Carlos Jobim ou « A Case of You » de la chanteuse canadienne Joni Mitchell.
