Après le très tendu Taxidermy en 2000, Queen Adreena réalise son album le plus abouti avec The Butcher and the Butterfly. Entre les deux est sorti Drink Me, connu des seuls fans les plus assidus car retiré de la vente suite à un conflit avec leur label. Queen Adreena c'est avant tout la personnalité de KatieJane Garside. Véritable furie scénique, se roulant à demie nue en toge face au public, éructant, gémissant dans son style proche d'une PJ Harvey hystérique ou d'une Allison Goldfrapp sous amphétamines. The Butcher and the Butterfly alterne les titres violents avec les morceaux à climat, climat froid et clinique bien évidemment. Queen Adreena commet un album personnel, réussi à l'image...
